1. Associate of Arts (University Transfer)

Polk State College offers a general Associate of Arts (AA) degree for students who wish to complete their first two years of college and then transfer to a four-year institution for a bachelor’s degree. Getting an associate degree at Polk State is a cost-effective path toward achieving a bachelor’s degree because the costs for courses are lower at Polk State, and the associate degree may be transferred to any state university in Florida.

AA degrees consist of 60 credit hours and most courses count for three (3) credits. AA degrees require 36 hours of general education courses and 24 credit hours (8 courses) of electives. We encourage students with an interest in Digital Media to enroll in digital media and art courses for their electives (see below) because these courses are generally required by most universities offering Digital Media programs of study.

Specifically, AA students interested in digital media, should enroll in the (5) digital media courses listed below, plus three (3) other art courses for their elective options. The full list of digital media courses available for AA electives is available here. Be sure to consult with your university advisers about course recommendations as these will vary according to your chosen academic major.
